With Hurricane Helen charting a path from the Gulf of Mexico and eventually through Fairmont City, Illinois, the site of this weekend’s NHRA Midwest Nationals, race officials have opted to adjust Friday’s schedule in hopes of completing two Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying sessions.

The opening session of professional qualifying at World Wide Technology Raceway, located outside of St. Louis, will begin at noon CT on Friday, starting with Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Stock, and Funny Car and Top Fuel set for 1 p.m. CT. The second qualifying session will start at 2:30 p.m. CT in PSM and PS, with the nitro categories to follow at 3:30 p.m. CT.
