A year after Greg Anderson joined one of drag racing’s most exclusive clubs, the milestone is getting another turn in the spotlight.

The 1000 Round Win Club will sponsor this weekend’s Drag Race Bracket Bonanza during the Thunder Valley Nationals, bringing together a fan game built around picking round winners and a club built around doing exactly that for decades.

For Elon Werner, the partnership was a natural fit because both projects celebrate the same thing.

“This is the combination of two of my passion projects, Drag Race Bracket Bonanza and the 1000 Round Win Club,” Werner said. “This is the perfect time to celebrate Greg’s amazing accomplishment and tie in one of the most fun fan engagement games in drag racing.”

The anniversary traces back to Bristol one year ago when Anderson defeated David Cuadra in the Pro Stock semifinals to earn the 1,000th round win of his NHRA professional career. The victory placed him alongside John Force as the only drivers in NHRA history to reach the milestone.

That’s still the entire membership roll.

Force reached the mark in 2008 and ultimately built his total to 1,460 round wins. Anderson joined him last season and currently stands at 1,040 victories, numbers that explain why the club remains one of the toughest memberships in motorsports to earn.

While Anderson’s achievement provides the backdrop, the sponsorship is centered on Drag Race Bracket Bonanza and its growing reach among drag racing fans.

The free-to-play game allows participants to build elimination brackets after qualifying and follow their picks throughout race day. Some play for prizes, others for bragging rights, but everyone discovers the same thing by the second round — drag racing is harder to predict than it looks.

A dominant qualifier can disappear in the first round. A driver struggling all weekend can suddenly find a rhythm on Sunday afternoon. That’s part of what has helped Drag Race Bracket Bonanza carve out a place in the weekly routine of racers, crew members and fans.

Werner said the Thunder Valley Nationals consistently ranks among the game’s most active events.

“Bristol is one of our most popular races for Drag Race Bracket Bonanza and we have some special announcements tied to this sponsorship,” Werner said.
