NEW HEMI CHROME MOLY ROCKER SHAFT WITH DLC FROM TREND

Trend Performance unveils a new rocker shaft for 5.7L and 6.1L high-performance Hemi engines. Its advantages are strength, reduced friction, and 9eTrendRockerShaftsHemiLraffordability. The shafts will be sold through Livernois Motorsports of Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

Created to overcome deflection and to improve valve-train stability when used in conjunction with high-performance camshafts and valve train, Trend produces this new shaft from thick-wall 4130 chrome molybdenum, subjects it to two heat treatments—through-hardening and nitriding—and finally applies a DLC (diamond-like coating).

The nitriding process not only contributes a tough surface skin (.015in deep) but also produces the ideal surface for the application of the DLC. The DLC provides increased wear-resistance and reduced coefficient of friction. The 4130 chrome molybdenum material is selected not only for its strength and excellent heat-treatment properties but also for its ability to facilitate a fine surface finish of .5 micro inches (Ra—roughness average).

With a diameter and length of .865in and 19.3125in respectively, the new shaft directly replaces the original (contained within the Mopar rocker assembly, Part Number 053021574AA)

Obviously, this new Trend shaft is equipped with all the correct mounting holes, requisite lubricating holes, and freeze plugs installed in the ends. Trend believes it to be the finest, most affordable shaft of its kind.

LS FLEXPLATES JOIN LEGENDARY “THE WHEEL” FROM JW

The popular J.W. Performance flexplates, “The Wheel” is now available for LS1 to LS7 engines, LSX, LSQ and LS9 engines.  These flexplates fit the GM jwPowerglide, Turbo-Hydro 350, Turbo-Hydro 400, 700-R4, 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E, 4L80E and 4L85E automatic transmissions.   This beauty is made from chrome moly steel and is .187” thick. “The Wheel” is dish shaped in the crank area to accept various style torque converters.  The flexplate provides proper clearance for many applications and will accept 10.75”, 11.08” and 11.5” torque converter bolt patterns.

CHASSISWORKS' GM A-BODY BOLT-ON COIL-OVER CONVERSION

The first in a series of new rear suspension products, Chris Alston’s Chassisworks now offers a top-quality, bolt-on coil-over suspension conversion for 1964-1972 GM A-bodies. The upper and lower shock mount brackets are easily positioned using factory mounting locations on the chassis and 10- or 12-bolt rear-end housing.

The bolt-on installation takes just a few hours and requires drilling a few additional holes to securely mount the brackets. Optionally available weld-on versions of the axle brackets and upper shock cross member allow the shocks and lower control arms to be moved inward for additional tire clearance. VariShock coil-over shocks are included in the package and available in 16-position single- or double-adjustable versions to fine tune ride quality and handling performance.

Billet-aluminum lower shock mounts can be moved to one of four positions, enabling a ride-height adjustment range of nearly 2”. Kits include matte-black powder-coated upper and lower mounting brackets, billet shock mounts, all mounting hardware, and VariShocks with coil springs (110 to 400 lb/in) or integrated air bags.

QFT CARBS NOW STOCK/SS LEGAL

The all-new Quick Fuel Technology (QFT) Super Stock Racing (SSR) carburetor, a new cast-aluminum SSR carb, has been approved by the NHRA for use in Super Stock and Stock. The engineers at QFT designed the SSR carbs to the same dimensions and specs of the original counterparts and guidelines in the NHRA rulebook.

Don Ness was as proud as he could be walking through the pits at Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio. He was more than willing to show off his latest creation to anyone who would take the time to look.

Ness, a veteran chassis builder known for his prowess in building Pro Stockers, no longer has a race car to showcase. He’s now in the wheelie bar business and firmly believes his carbon fiber model could become the greatest thing since sliced bread for this area of the race car.

Ness believes the carbon fiber bars, coupled with the billet hardware creates a unit that is up to 40-percent stronger, while weighing in at 30 pounds lighter.

DUAL FUEL REGULATORS MADE TWICE AS NICE

Often plumbing in two fuel regulators involves many fittings, hoses, and brackets. Not only can it be unsightly but the chance of a leak or other problem 555-159110occurring is greatly increased.
