DRE'S NEW GENERATION ROCKER ARM SYSTEMS

For all the nostalgia minded people who have always wanted to have the rocker arm technology, DRE Racing has the answer. With their NEW rocker-aj_1GENERATION 331-354-392 rocker arms system it allows the answer for higher ratio capabilities without worrying about the little things that don't clear.
DRE Racing has put a great deal of time into engineering this new system to allow for higher RPM's with out paying the price of bent valves, broken
valve guides, bent push rods all the problem you now have. Not only does this new system allow you to save time between rounds if you
have an N/TF car but it also allows you to be able to take the unit off and back on as a unit.

As says Jim Murphy west coast N/TF racer with crew chief Tim Beebe, they had to have a set up that worked, but saved them time, This new system saves Jim and his crew 12-15 minutes between rounds. It allows his crew to trust the system to work every time. Jim says it the best rocker arms he has evr had in his 40 plus years of racing.

The Brad Green N/TF car was the first to have a set because he knew from his back ground that the normal set of after market rocker arms which DRE makes was not the answer. After 2 years of use of the new system, Brad said that he has zero valve guide wear. Brad says he would not run his car without the NEW GENERATION rocker arms.

The DRE NEW GENERATION can be used for the street or all out racing at 10,500 RPM's, from blown to carbureted.

AMSOIL ANNOUNCES NEW ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION FLUSH

New AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush is a detergent-based flush product that is formulated to improve fuel economy, operating efficiency and reduce amsoilemissions in gasoline and diesel engines, and automatic transmissions. Its potent formula cleans sludge and deposit build-up, promoting lower operating temperatures and reduced oil consumption. Detergent-based AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush safe on parts and can be easily disposed of with waste oil.

Over time deposit buildup can cause power and performance loss, resulting in restricted oil flow to vital engine and transmission parts. AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush is a multi-use solution that dissolves and disperses sludge, varnish and deposits in a single treatment.

AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush is an advanced formulation with light base oil technology plus powerful detergents and dispersants. It prepares engines and transmissions for the installation of new motor oil or transmission fluid while restoring peak performance and power.

In addition, AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush loosens sticky valves, helps quiet lifter noise. In transmissions it helps unclog fluid passages, improves erratic shifting, and promotes smoother operation and longer transmission life.

AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush is recommended for both diesel and gasoline engines, and automatic transmissions. It is not recommended for CVT transmissions or differentials. One bottle contains 16 fluid ounces.

LUNATI’S NEW BAREBONES FLAT TAPPET AND ROLLER LIFTER CAM KITS

Though several Lunati BareBones cam and lifter kits have been in existence for the past two years, now these economical hard parts encompass a comprehensive schedule for small- and big-block Chevrolet and Ford enthusiasts.

Owners of street rods and muscle cars, mild race engines, street performance cars, 4x4 off-road, and marine applications will find that these new-era developments create camshafts that are spot-on accurate, endowed with a very attractive price, and now cover the complete range of popular applications.

The Lunati BareBones flat tappet cam and lifter sets accommodate four versions of Chevrolet small-block engines (l955-98 and 1987-up LT1 and LT4) and two versions of Chevrolet big-blocks (1965-96). For small-block Fords there are six versions (302 and 351 firing order) and three versions for big-block Fords. BareBones flat tappet cam and lifter kits begin at a mere $106.39. Eight versions of the BareBones roller camshafts and corresponding lifter sets for these same engines begin at $599.99.

BareBones cams are ground with asymmetrical lobes which means that the dynamics of the opening and closing ramp profiles are different. One side of the ramp is usually straight to the nose of the lobe while the opposite (closing) ramp profile has a pronounced dip or wave in the middle, thus producing quieter operation and being gentler on the valve train. These cams improve throttle response, acceleration, and maintain excellent engine vacuum on the street. Further, matched cam lobes and lifters maximize torque, horsepower, and durability.

Briefly, the range of hydraulic flat tappet BareBones cams provide revs from 1,000 to 5,800rpm, intake durations from 204 to 224 degrees (at 0.050 inch), exhaust durations from 214 to 234 degrees, gross intake valve lifts of 0.420 to 0.534-inch, and gross exhaust valve lifts from 0.443 to 0.569-inch. All of them utilize 112 degree lobe separation and an intake centerline of 107 degrees. All BareBones roller cams maintain a 108 degree centerline and a lobe separation angle of 112 degrees.

When drag racer Joe Lunati founded his able cam company in the late sixties, he committed it to racer-direct sales. This sensible policy continues today and these most competitively priced cams and lifters are in stock and ready to ship.

HOW TO CHOOSE A HOT ROD ALTERNATOR

Powermaster Performance has recently developed an upgraded tech help bulletin for choosing the correct alternator for street rod, muscle car, and street powermastermachine applications.

This one page, detailed quick guide helps customers evaluate their vehicle demands and select the proper alternator based on those demands as well as vehicle use.  While the automotive enthusiast has long used the saying; “more is better”, Powermaster believes that each vehicle has its’ own specific requirements. Careful selection of the proper alternator can save both time and money for any hot rodder and ensure the best possible performance out of their charging system.

Also included on the technical bulletin are guidelines for selecting the proper pulleys to ensure proper output throughout the RPM range.  Pulley ratio math is included to help users determine what they have, or what they need to get the most out of their alternator.

DIAMOND INTRODUCES DOUBLE-DIAMOND COATINGS

Diamond Pistons has introduced an ambitious new formula—a notable step forward in piston performance—the Diamond double-coat.
11dDiamondDoubleCoatings
By combining hard-coat anodizing with a moly-skirt coating, Diamond’s double-coat pistons will benefit all engines but is particularly useful in power-adder applications.

The anodizing process provides a thermal barrier and increases both corrosion-resistance and wear-resistance. It also deters piston rings from micro welding themselves to the ring grooves and it creates an excellent adhesion surface. The baked-on molybdenum dry-film lubricant skirt coating provides an anti-friction anti-scuffing surface; hence this new combination resists high cylinder temperatures and pressures and frees-up a little more power.

To compensate for the additional build-up from the anodizing process, extra machining clearances are required, about .002-inch on the piston diameter and also on the width and depth of the ring grooves. Then the pistons are submerged in a detergent-acid bath, followed by two rinses before the anodizing process and three rinses after.

In the coating room, five light coats of the moly dry-film lubricant are applied to the pistons, which are then baked in an oven for an hour.

Diamond, who has been developing and testing their double-coat procedures for over two years, conducts all their coating processes in-house. The turn-around time for the Diamond double-coat process is about two days and the cost is $50 per piston. Single coatings, either anodizing or moly-skirt, are still available.
