The IHRA has immediately parted ways with Kenny Nowling as its series President. IHRA made the statement via its social media channels and website.
“The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) and former president Kenny Nowling have officially parted ways, effective immediately. This decision reflects our unwavering commitment to safety, competition, and integrity.
“As we transition, transparency and communication remain our top priorities. Weekly updates will be shared, leading up to a live Q&A session in February with the IHRA’s new leadership team to keep everyone informed and engaged.”
Nowling was named IHRA president on Oct. 21, by then series owner Larry Jeffers. A little over a month later, Nowling announced after the Performance Racing Industry show the signing of a multi-million-dollar sponsorship from Darana Hybrid and a modest three-race Nitro Jam schedule with events featuring both nitro-burning categories, Pro Stocks, Pro Mod, Nitro Harleys, and a score of sportsman divisions.
Days later, Darana Hybrid owner Darryl Cuttel purchased the series, and it was revealed the series would field ten major races in 2025.
Sources indicate major announcements will come in the following weeks.
