Funny Car driver Jason Rupert will close the season at his home track, the Pomona Dragstrip, competing under the banner of Shell Roofing Solutions Group. Rupert recently made headlines at the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas, where he qualified 12th and recorded his career-best elapsed time twice during eliminations.
Shell Roofing Solutions Group has supported Rupert Motorsports as an associate sponsor for the past three seasons. This marks the company’s first appearance as the primary sponsor in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
“We appreciate the support that Shell Roofing Solutions Group has given us the past few years and feel privileged to carry their company’s colors at such a big event,” Rupert said. “We have worked hard to make improvements on the track and in the pits.”
Rupert added, “It’s been a heck of a season. We got our first round-win at the NHRA Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals, and the car has gotten better with every opportunity that Rahn Tobler has had a chance to tune it.”
Rupert highlighted recent performance improvements, noting, “We ran a 3.98 in Sonoma that was a career-best at the time, and then we made three three-second runs in Las Vegas – 3.99, 3.95, and 3.94.”
Shell Roofing Solutions Group is part of a broader group of Rupert Motorsports supporters that includes Lucas Oil, J.S. Easterday Construction, and others.
“The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and Rupert Motorsports provide a great platform to introduce Shell Roofing Solutions Group to the fans in attendance and the broadcast audience on Fox Sports 1,” said Rudy Gutierrez, president and CEO of Shell Roofing Solutions Inc.
Based in Chino, California, the company focuses on eco-friendly and sustainable building solutions, offering services such as new roof construction and roof assessments.
