NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster World Champion Julie Nataas will make her Nitro Funny Car debut at the Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tennessee, June 6–8. This marks a significant milestone in her career as she takes the wheel of the 12,000-horsepower Airmine Toyota GR Supra powered by DC Motorsports.
After three months of testing, Nataas completed her Nitro Funny Car licensing requirements in early May, under the guidance of team owner and tuner Del Worsham. With notable performances in Gainesville, Phoenix, and Indianapolis, she steps into this new challenge with support from Airmine, a longtime sponsor.
“This is a huge moment,” said Nataas. “Having a hometown brand with global reach like Airmine alongside me again makes it even more special.”

Nataas becomes the first Norwegian driver to compete in Nitro Funny Car, joining a select group of female drivers with active NHRA licenses in both Nitro categories. Her diverse experience in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car positions her as one of the most accomplished female drivers in the sport.
The DC Motorsports Toyota GR Supra has already made an impact this season, with Bobby Bode achieving career-best runs before returning to his family team. With Nataas at the helm, the Worshams continue to provide talented drivers opportunities in the competitive Funny Car landscape.
“Julie is smart, focused, and fearless,” Worsham said. “She shares feedback from the run like a seasoned veteran.”
