Stevie “Fast” Jackson has long intended to build a doorslammer racing empire. Today, the past NHRA Pro Modified champion and iconic doorslammer racer took a significant step in the business sector by hiring Don O’Neal as his General Manager for the Killin’ Time Racing [KTR] brand.
The new shop, in Thomson, GA, has achieved numerous championships across multiple continents and serves customers globally with top-quality components and services. Whether asset management or complete racing cars, KTR provides comprehensive motorsports solutions.
O’Neal brings nine years of drag racing experience as a Top Sportsman competitor and ten years in the marketing sector with Streetway Marketing and Media. He is also a 23-year U.S. Army veteran who most recently worked on air with FLO Sports.
“I am still in a pinch-me mode, kinda,” O’Neal said. “Most don’t know, but Di (Don’s Late Wife) and I tested in 2018 with Stevie and Barker (Jeffrey) at Carolina Dragway when we won the NGK Nationals. We have chatted here and there along the way, and the opportunity to be part of building a future in fast-door car racing is full circle for me. I am ready to hit the ground running, working on the 2024 Racing Season and beyond.”
Jackson believes O’Neal brings an essential dynamic to the operation.
“I am thrilled to bring Don into our growing family,” Jackson said. “Don has a vast knowledge of the inner workings of our sport and has developed strong connections and relationships during his decades-long career. His military experience and marketing prowess are a bonus for us as well. Don will be my right-hand man and is tasked with helping us grow our company to be dominant in our field. Don is responsible for handling the day-to-day business at KTR and broadening our marketing reach into new directions.”
KTR plans to close the season at the No Mercy Outlaw Radial Race, NHRA Vegas Nationals, Las Vegas’ World Street Nationals, Bradenton’s Snowbird Nationals, SEMA, and PRI Shows. Simultaneously, they will prepare their new facility for both on-track and off-track competitions.
