Mother Nature won Sunday at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.
Persistent rain, coupled with temperatures headed in the wrong direction, forced NHRA officials to postpone eliminations for the inaugural Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals presented by MOPAR until Monday.
After waiting through the weather and hoping for an opening, NHRA ultimately ran out of workable racetrack and daylight. The first round of eliminations is now scheduled for 11 a.m. ET Monday, with Top Fuel and Funny Car leading the way, followed by Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.
Gates at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park will open at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday ticket holders can use their tickets for admission Monday. Fans unable to return will be eligible for a full credit toward the same day of racing at the 2027 event at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.
Tickets will also be available at the gate Monday. Children 12 and under are admitted free in general admission areas with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Monday’s eliminations will air live on FS2 from 3-6 p.m. ET, with an additional broadcast scheduled for FS1 from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Sportsman racing also has some unfinished business.
The Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Sportsman final rounds are scheduled for Monday. The Top Alcohol Funny Car final will have to wait considerably longer, with that championship round scheduled to be completed next month in Dallas.
Doug Kalitta will lead the Top Fuel field into Monday after qualifying No. 1 in his home state. Matt Hartford owns the top spot in Pro Stock, while Ryan Oehler will start from No. 1 in Pro Stock Motorcycle after earning the first pole of his career.
Austin Prock qualified No. 1 in Funny Car with a 3.859-second run at 331.61 mph, giving the two-time defending world champion his second No. 1 qualifier of the season and the 27th of his career.
The Great Lakes Nationals is the 15th of 20 events on the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series schedule and the opening race of the six-event Countdown to the Championship.
